Is This You?
You’ve been in business for 10 years or more.
You probably have one or more businesses running…Yet your responsibilities still feel like they did on day one.
No rest and No time for yourself. You work like an ant even on Sundays.
And on top of that, nothing is happening. It feels as if you’re still in the same place. Inflation keeps catching up with your efforts.
I can tell you for sure that this is a serious case but it has a simple solution.
Let’s Talk About the “Nothing Is Happening” Problem
Business growth is not driven by hard work alone. It’s driven by smart work.
Remember: Your business started as an idea before it became reality.
After 10 years in business, you should have:
1. Solid data
2. Deep experience
3. Strong revenue (even ₦10M+ monthly depending on industry)
4. Better cost management systems
5. Great supplier relationships
6. Expansion ideas already in motion
7. Growth in assets and valuation
If these aren’t happening, the problem is not the business. The Problem Is You.
Everything you achieve begins in the mind and then action follows.
Your mind gives you ideas.
Your mind gives you goals.
But the question is: Are you executing them the right way?
The gap between where you are and where you want to be… Is you.
How You Get Off Track without Realizing It
Let’s be practical.
You started your business in 2015.
Year 1: Good sales. Good profit.
Year 2: You made adjustments, expanded a bit, and profits increased massively.
Then comes Year 3 — and this is where the trouble begins.
Because you achieved success in the first two years, your focus shifts from value to money.
You begin to “work harder,” which is good… But now you’re doing it wrongly.
Why? Because you stopped aligning your decisions with:
- Your original business purpose
- Your mind’s natural guidance
Your mind may give you the goal: “Increase profits by 40%.”
But the aligned path might be:
- Expand certain product lines
- Create product bundles
- Deepen relationships with existing customers
- Increase customer loyalty
- Get creative with existing offers
But because you are no longer aligned, you think: “Let me open another location.”
One option costs little. The other drains your resources.
You choose the second. This is where they problems begin:
- Higher rent
- New stock (sometimes on credit)
- Store setup expenses
- New staff
- Reduced savings
And all of a sudden, the market shifts.
- Sales drop.
- Suppliers start calling.
- Banks start greeting you.
- Demand shifts.
- Logistics delay products.
- The season ends before your goods arrive.
Now you have inventory but no buyers.
- You still owe suppliers.
- You still owe creditors.
Stress enters so do confusion enters. And you begin to lose clarity.
You start fighting short-term fires instead of thinking long-term.
This is where many business owners get stuck in the middle. Not small enough to reset, not big enough to scale.
- They lose their mission.
- They lose their “why.”
- They rely more on emotions than on logic and experience.
Is this you? If Yes, Don’t panic — there’s a Simple Solution
To think right again and begin to move in alignment, you must return to your business vision — Your Original Why.
I know it won’t be easy for you, especially with so many things on your desk.
So here’s what you can do to clear your desk, to create space to think, and realign with your original ‘why.’
Here are the steps to follow:
Step 1: Clear Your Table
You cannot reconnect to your mission if your mind is crowded. List every activity you do daily and weekly.
Then use the ABC strategy:
A — Most Important Tasks. You must personally handle these.
B — Semi-important. Delegate to experts.
C — Least Important. Remove them completely unless they have real value.
Your time and energy are premium. Protect them.
Examples:
Logistics? Partner with logistics companies.
Publicity? Hire marketers or social media managers.
Yes, this means hiring. But this time, the reason is solid: You are buying back your time so your business can grow.
These people are not expenses. They are extensions of you — your eyes and hands.
Step 2: Focus Only on “A”
This is where your leadership and strategy live. This is where growth happens. Once you delegate B and remove C, you suddenly have space. You can breathe again and think again.
Step 3: Reconnect With Your Mission
Now that your head is clear:
- Ideas will flow again
- Questions will arise
- Answers will appear
- Opportunities will reveal themselves
You will realize inflation is not stopping you that you have simply been moving in the wrong direction. You will feel alive again.
The Freedom You’re Looking For Starts With One Thing
Go back to your WHY.
When you reconnect:
- Your productivity increases
- Your confidence grows
- Your vision sharpens
- Your results improve
- Your stress reduces
- Your business becomes meaningful again
Stop being “busy doing nothing.” Start being aligned and effective.
